Management of HWF is now Complete
The general meeting of the HWF Hamburg Business Development Corporation has appointed Ms Jutta Ludwig as the company’s new CEO. At the same time the decision was made to extend Uwe Jens Neumann’s tenure as HWF Managing Director.
Minister Ian Karan: "Business development is an essential element of Hamburg’s economic policy. By restructuring the group of marketing companies consisting of HMG, HHT and HWF, we are meeting the organizational requirements for successfully marketing Hamburg at the national and international level. The decision in favour of Ms Ludwig and Mr Neumann gives us an exceptional management team."
Jutta Ludwig holds a degree in economics (Diplom-Volkswirtin) from the University of Hamburg. In addition, she studied sinology in Hamburg and Taipeh. After working for the Federation of German Industries (Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie, BDI), Karstadt AG, and the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy, Ms Ludwig has since 2003 been Delegate of German Industry and Commerce and Executive Director at the German Chamber of Commerce in Beijing.
Jutta Ludwig: "Hamburg is a thriving, internationally attractive city that has made sustainability and responsible growth core principles of its economic approach. My aim is to contribute to the further advancement of the economic power and prosperity of the city and its citizens by consistently strengthening the successful activities and structures that are in place and using foresight to address the relevant future issues. Increasing global economic integration requires joint, forward-looking innovation efforts in all sectors, from the port to the services sector, to crafts, trade and industry, in order to reinforce Hamburg’s universal competitiveness in the long term."
Uwe Jens Neumann has been the HWF Hamburg Business Development Corporation’s Managing Director since 1999. His prime focus is on building industry cluster networks for business development. With Hamburg@work, his tasks cover the fields of media, IT and digital industries. Until Ms Ludwig joins the staff, Mr Neumann will continue to represent the HWF Hamburg Business Development Corporation as its sole managerial head.
The scheduled restructuring of the corporations involved in marketing Hamburg will bolster HWF’s role as the central point of contact for companies locating in Hamburg. An intensive process to shape the new group structure is currently under way.
